The Jehovah’s Witnesses is a religion with believes distinct from mainstream Christianity which was founded in the late 1870s by Charles Taze Russell.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses have some peculiar beliefs and some of them have to do with celebrations.
The Jehovah’s witnesses don’t celebrate birthdays, Halloween, Easter and Christmas because they think that those celebrations involve false religious beliefs or activities.
Since they don’t celebrate many important holidays, some people are wondering if they celebrate graduations.
I have a few friends who are Jehovah’s Witnesses and I am sure that school graduations are some of the celebrations that they are allowed to participate or at at least that’s why I assumed.
Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Celebrate Graduations?
According to the Jehovah’s Witnesses principles, If the celebration involves any of the following situations, the Jehovah’s witness refrain from it
- Connected to false religion, including ancient pagan rites
- Connected to politics, nationalism and exalting one race above another
- Gives undue honor to an individual, organization or national symbol
Since a school graduation doesn’t fall in any of the categories above, Jehovah’s witnesses can attend to graduations without any remorse.
